As the series develops, Will Turner flies many of the most
important types of the period covered by each book, as well as
interesting and less well known machines.
In some instances, examples of these airplanes still exist in
museums or collections. This enables us to discuss with some
certainty their construction and features. In a few rare cases
original flying examples exist and their modern day pilots can give
us an insight into their flying qualities.
Click on the links in the side menu to read an introductory
article, view some pictures, or be taken to a profile page,
usually showing an illustration of the airplane in question and
giving details of its history and specifications.
We hope that both aviation historians and other interested
readers will feel free to contribute via the discussion
area. Where new facts are introduced we will include
those and attribute where we can.
