Will Turner Stories officially launched in the UK

Chris Davey sets up shop at Stow Maries

The Will Turner Stories were officially launched in the UK at the Stow Maries Vintage Day on Sunday May 8th.

The event was a huge success for Stow Maries, Chris Davey and Lucky Press. The organisers were expecting a few hundred people for what we thought was a low profile event. To everybody's surprise over two thousand people turned up. Luckily the volunteers who arranged the day had done a superb job and we coped with the crowds.

The day dawned bright and sunny, but despite a blustery wind a number of interesting aeroplanes arrived. These included members of the Great War Display Team. The pilot of the Fokker Eindekker replica showed what his Edwardian forebears would have described as "tremendous pluck". He confessed his machine is so light, he almost doubles the total weight when he gets in!

On the ground a small but very varied display included vintage motorcycles and cars and a superb group of military vehicles.

In the old airman's mess Chris set up shop with all three books on sale, including the first copies of "Turner's Defense" printed in the UK. In a hectic day over sixty books were signed and sold. A record for this type of event we are told by Janice Phelps the CEO of Lucky Press.

We would like to extend a big thankyou to the organisers. In particular Russel, Ivor and Mike who made us so welcome, and all those discerning readers who are now enjoying the Will Turner stories.

Look out for details of the next big Stow Maries event in September. We would not miss it for the world!
