The Author:

Chris Davey lives with his wife and daughter at Hertford in
England, near the former site of the famous de Havilland aircraft
factory at Hatfield. Will Turner's Flight Logs are the result of his
life long interest in aviation and literature. His first flight was
in a Royal Air Force de Havilland Chipmunk and he has been
passionate about flying ever since.
Chris has been a member of the Cambridge Flying Group flying de
Havilland Tiger Moth biplanes for twenty years
(

).
The reviewer who said, only
somebody who had flown open cockpit tail draggers could write so
vividly about the experience was spot on.
In 2005 Chris went for his
medical confident that he was fully fit, and found that the symptoms
of breathlessness and lack of energy he had put down to being out of
condition, were actually the result of a serious heart condition.
The result was open heart surgery to repair the failing mitral valve
that was the cause of the problem. Thanks to the brilliant work of
Doctor Len Shapiro and surgeon, Mr. Frank Wells, the failed valve
was successfully repaired and Chris is well on his way to a full
recovery and the re issue of his medical.
Inevitably this delayed
publication, but we hope you will agree the finished book is worth
the wait.
